His description of a peripheral character caught my eye..
“Mr. Bateson was a little ball of a man with one of those heads, capped and cupped by hair, that would look just as probable upside down.”
Seems to be a reference to the sort of topsy-turvy heads we were looking at last year.
Here now is another example:
“Laltre is the youngest wine they produce and its new design represents, through an optical illusion, the merged values of his youth with the experience and wisdom of the traditional methods which the winery follows.”
“Looking probable” is certainly the primary challenge in creating this type of illustration. Similar to ambigrams, these reversible faces need to be equally plausible in both positions.
