Package Design Magazine’s Makeover Challenge

Composite3

Before Beach Packaging Design was honored to be invited to take part in Package Design Magazine’s sixth annual “Makeover Challenge.” We, and three other firms, were given the challenge of redesigning the packaging for an existing line of four Casa Visco products. Above is our entry—(see more photos, after the fold).  Photo on the left shows Casa Visco’s current product packaging.

The winning firm will be (partly) determined by online voting. The August issue of Package Design Magazine includes photos and the thinking behind each firm’s re-design entry. See all the entries, read the rationales and cast your vote at Package Design Magazine’s web site.

Readers of box vox will note how we applied some of our pet packaging themes to this project. Namely, the ‘meaningful’ die cut windows and the illustrated UPC—(inspired by Melody Chang’s post on bar codes).
